Coaching summer league, age group, and high school has earned Coach Sharp more than 30 years of coaching experience. His own swimming career began as a youngster in 1958 with the Lafayette Swim Club. Coach Sharp later went on to compete for Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University. In 1976, he graduated from Purdue after serving 4 years in the Navy. Through his years of coaching, Coach Sharp has developed many nationally ranked age group and high school swimmers. He also has received many coaching related awards including an award for Excellence in Coaching from the American Swim Coaches Association, Coach of the Year for Indiana Swimming, as well as numerous Coach of the Year awards for high school swimming.
